Description
Join us on this white tour and discover the secret side of Tuscany! Everyone knows that Tuscany is the top producer of red wines, such as the Chianti wine, but there is also a great production of White Wines like the Vermentino. Thanks to our full day tour we will walk you in the exploration of four DOC wines produced by one of the most ancient wine estates in Luni.
A true journey in the history of Wine! You will meet the passionate owners of the estate, see the property and discover the key for the best artisan wines. On your first stop is the wine Museum: thanks to ancient objects and works of art you will learn about the history and the traditions of the wine makers culture. Then, in a wine workshop you will find out the different techniques, the perfumes and the secrets to produce the best wines and liqueurs of Tuscany. After a visit of the vineyards you will enter the cellar, where you will begin a special guided wine tasting.
You will try four DOC wines combined with fresh brushettas, both with organic extra-virgin olive oil, focaccia bread and Tuscan olives.
Once your wine journey is complete, we will continue our “White Tour” by reaching Carrara, home of the white gold: the marble. Here, you will have a guided tour to learn the history of marble, the different techniques and tools used to extract it. You will also learn about the cave where Michelangelo was used to select the blocks to produce stunning masterpieces.
Our last stop is Colonnata, the only village where you can produce the acclaimed IGP Colonnata Lard, which is aged and seasoned inside of marble tanks. Here, you will have free time to explore the beautiful village, and maybe search its “fist citizen”: a regal peacock that generally walks around the Church dedicated to the quarrymen.
