The best way to enjoy the famous Five Villages, Cinque Terre, along the coast of the Italian Riviera, with an expert of this area. Our experienced tour leader will pick you up directly from your pier in La Spezia port. Together, you will walk towards the train station of La Spezia, where you will hop on the first train available to reach the UNESCO protected area of Cinque Terre.
The first Village that you will reach is Manarola. Famous for its path of love, Manarola is the oldest of the Five Villages. This first fishing village will charm you thanks to its authentic atmosphere: boats parked on the sides of the main road, the smell of the sea and cats waiting for the fishermen to be back with some freshly-caught fish. Here, our expert tour leader will tell you more about the story behind the name of the path of love, Via dell’Amore.
Weather permitting, we will take the boat to get to the next village, Vernazza. It is a typical Ligurian Fishing Village with a wide open harbor and an amazing Castle belonging to the Doria Family. In Vernazza you will find many places to try some delicious focaccia bread with extra-virgin olive oil or pesto sauce, as well as the best artisan gelato with different freshly-made flavors like pistachio or basil.
The third Village you will explore is Monterosso, the biggest of the Five Villages. Named after the particular coloration of some rocks (Monte = rock; rosso = red), Monterosso is the right place to have an unforgettable lunch (not included). Full of nice tiny restaurants and bars, our tour leader will show you her top three list to give you a wide choice so that you can choose the one that you prefer the most to enjoy a lovely fish or seafood meal. In Monterosso you will have enough free time to explore both in the old and the new part of the town, relax, do some shopping and dip your feet in the lovely and warm Ligurian Sea!
After your free time in Monterosso you will meet again with our tour leader, who will to take you back to La Spezia train station and then walk with you back to your Cruise Ship where you started the tour in time to get back to your relaxing holiday in the best places of our beautiful Italy.
