The former Carthusian monastery founded in the 14th Century was inhabited until 1973 when the last monk left. Thanks to the many donations bestowed on the monastery, it was renovated in the 17th century receiving its current baroque appearance and becoming what they called a “Palace of the Faith”. Walking through the main church, the refectory, both frescoed and adorned by famous painters, the monks’ cell and their cloister, you will discover a world of immense beauty and silence.
