Description
After a lovely drive through the Tuscan countryside between cypress trees and vineyards we’ll reach the ancient town of the Etruscans.
Here you can admire the Roman Theatre, the Etruscan gates, the Medici Fortress, the beautiful Cathedral of S. Maria Assunta and the unique Bishop’s palace.
Volterra is a haven of Etruscan, Roman and Medieval art! We’ll visit also an alabaster studio to learn more about this art. In fact, near the town are the famous quarries of alabaster.
Perched high up on a hill top Volterra offers a spectacular view over the olive groves and Tuscan vineyards.
After some free time for lunch we’ll continue with a special stop to the “Teatro del Silenzio”, created by Andrea Bocelli, to discover where the great Italian singer performs every summer and a visit of his birth town Lajatico.
With Special visit of Andrea Bocelli Village.
